Friday 7th June Mokoia kids endured a 7km dash through
hilly dry terrain.
All starting from the
rugby posts all 213 kids heard the clappers and bolted for the finish line.
There first task was to make it of the streets on to the farm on Moray St
jumping an old fence covered in spikey blackberry. Then up through the long
grass of the farm which seemed to stretch on forever.
Finally after they exited the gruelling farm they could see
the finish line on the horizon. The last few steps seemed the longest and they
finished back through the posts. They had done it.
