Minecraft….
A huge online multi
player lifestyle game played by millions across the world. Invented by Mark
Persson is growing by hundreds every day but is that a good thing. You can
build houses, Cities, whatever you want really. But can it be used by schools
to educate students. Over the past few weeks our class P4 and a few others have
been testing that out.
I disagree with the use of minecraft because it distracts
students keeping them inside and taking their mind out of the real world.
But it does have some
positive values like scaling and modelling and being able to use your
creativity. You could instruct your student to build a certain thing or build a
model to scale of a famous landmark E.g. Empire State Building
Overall I don’t like the use of minecraft as a learning tool
because it distracts student, starts arguments and turns people into robots!
